I am finally back at work and before I do anything else I would like to share a little bit about my holiday with you all. This was by far the best summer holiday I have had in years and the reason is because my sister and nephew came to visit from Croatia.

There has been such a build up of anticipation for the arrival of my sister and nephew. Tickets were bought in September and anyone who knows me well knows that I am not the most patient person and that I just could NOT wait for the 23.12. when they were to arrive. I was so worked up that I felt sick in the car on the way to the airport. My best friend came to the airport and kept calming me down. And then there they were …

Christmas morning saw the usual routine, one very excited 8 year old running through the house screaming “come downstairs everybody!! Santa was here!!!!”
I made him take photos before he started opening presents (mean mother).

Colours scheme was light blue/ white/silver this year.

And as per usual there was way too much food. I thought that the cakes were particularly interesting.

And then the real fun started. We did all the touristy things…

Zoo…

Cherry picking…

Aquarium…

Coffee…  Lots of Coffee… My sister drinks litres a day!!!

Stroll through Melbourne, THE MOST liveable city in the world…

We went back in time…tried to get rich…

Didn’t work out for us of course…

And then Queensland…

Have you been to Eumundi Market?  If not you should check it out. It is huge!!!

Up close and personal with the animals at Australia ZOO…

And now back to reality and  hard work. Looking forwaqrd to seeing you at Markets around town.

Stay safe until next time…

About me...

My name is Antonija. I turned 40 this year. I have a husband and two gorgeous boys and I live in the most liveable city in the world. I am lucky!  It is fair to say however that I am minority in our house; they constantly try to talk over me and make fun of me. Luckily I am a tough cookie and I fight for my rights!

In May last year I made a huge decision, probably the biggest in my life. I resigned from my job. For months before I did that, every day I felt more and more left out of the family life and guilty at the same time because I basically lived to work. Work was demanding and while I tried to find a better work-life balance it was just not happening. There was always another event, another drama… I felt like I was on one of those travelators you see at the airport and I sew life passing by and I was looking on it from the outside.

One Saturday night I wrote my resignation and I pressed Send before I had time to change my mind.

So there I was. I lazed around and read books like they are running out of fashion and then I started getting back to what I love but for a long time didn’t have time for. That off course is craft, crochet and knitting in particular. I also always wanted to learn to sew. So I bought a sewing machine and signed up for sewing lessons.

Some12 months into my tranquil, pleasure filled life my husband stoped hinting I should go back to work and started openly asking if I was ever going back to work. My friends, at the same time were saying “you should sell your bags”. I kept making them… .
Brown.......

And Black......

And some with flowers....

Isn’t everyone’s dream to do what you love and earn a living at the same time? Well it certainly was mine. So when I turned 40 in May this year I promised myself that I will follow my dream.

So not to bore you with all the technicalities but one thing lead to another and I am in business! Hurray!  I make handbags (predominantly decorated with my crochet pieces), purses and crochet jewellery.

I have to be honest with you. While I wanted to start my Blog at the same time I was petrified. This is largely because my very dear and close friend always picks on my spelling. Well I grew up in Europe and while Australia is home unfortunately English is my second language. So please forgive me if I do make spelling mistake or my sentence is not structured quite right.

It is like anything new I try to do, I get anxious but after I achieve it I feel really good! I feel that already.

Well, now you know who I am, I hope you will come and check out my blog, introduce yourself and say hallo.

Stay safe until next time. xxx
